Julia looked up at the sun, high in the sky. A warm breeze sent the scents of the blooming flowers and the wildlife around her into her face. Her bright blue eyes scanned the open field. Something was different. The deer, that she had grown close to, were fearful. She rose on her paws, padding into the shadowed forest. Her eyes scanned the land as she padded. She was looking for the herd, she had been building up. After being banished from Elk Pack, Julia spent a lot of time wandering. She and Jason settled down in a large wooded area, building a home. Jason spent most of his time in the small town nearby, working as a bar keeper. It earned them enough money to get by on. Jason suggested letting people hunt the deer for money, but Julia always fought him on it. Julia had used what money she had (from her mom) to buy the forest around their house. It kept her and Jason safe.
Julia padded next to the small herd she had gotten used to her in her wolf form. She sniffed as they went along. Her eyes scanning the shadows as she went along. Something was spooking the deer. She broke off from the herd, searching. Her eyes flicked as she searched. She crouched low to the ground hoping her fur wouldn't catch the streaks of sunlight filtering through the dense tree tops. Julia cursed Jason for being at work. The one time she needed him home with her, and he was gone. She would have to beat him up later. Right now she needed to find whatever it was scaring her deer. She slunk along the forest floor slowly. Her eyes flicking at any and all sounds around her.
